Luke: thanks for kick-starting this conversation! You're right, I could tell you had a lot more on your mind than you let on at PodCamp, and I hope we all have a chance to continue this discussion in person in Philly, if not sooner. (This also makes me wish I'd been able to stick around for your Video Show & Tell as well -- I think there's a rule about never being able to fully enjoy your own party...)

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! Shawn, I'd be happy to chat some more with you about this or anything. Mike, I hope we get to meet each other at Philly- as I said I was pretty bad at introducing myself this time around but I'm just so excited that there are people around here working in this space.

We should plan a session at podcamp philly to talk about this stuff. Kind of like "The future of the medium: beyond money and into the new culture of participation"

I'm with you on several of your points. Even in the "monetizing" discussion, it felt like lynsie from Spreadshirt and myself were getting shut down by those that were deffinately hedging their bets on some monetizing scheme already.

It did seem that the money was held above the ideas of how to do a good podcast, sometimes. I felt like we were in the minority in actually talking about how we get chemistry on the show and interact with community that listens. But, alas, these representatives are in a very vocal minority, because that's their jobs.

We (the Mayhem Show) plan on attending in Philly as well, hope to see you speaking up about these same issues you've dropped on here.

Don't be afraid to talk, especially since you actually have something to say. I really wish that I was recording our conversation at the end of Sunday. You make excellent points and it is important sometimes that we shut up and listen to each other. Just because some people aren't afraid to talk all the time... it doesn't mean they are always right. Some people at podcamp i truely think were there to share and help and others can't get past the fact that I just mis-spelled truly... My suggestion is that we shut up about money and sponsors and focus on content, once we get that content to the place we feel it is ready then we can try to do this "for a living", whatever that really means.

By the way I say YouTube is AFV, but I like AFV and I like YouTube. And the cool thing about YouTube is that we create the content we control it's future.

Once again it was a pleasure meeting you, and I look forward to talking to you in the future.

I haven't listened to the live show yet, but I will; and then decide how I will use it. I'll let you know. Thanks for being a part of GeekRiot. I'll have you call into a live show soon.
